COFFIN DUST
by Ray O'Bannon

That’s all you are, you know
when the sun glows orange
painting the meadows softly
as it sinks away

coffin dust

the time you went
roller skating
the time you fell
in love
the time you dreamed
all over now

coffin dust

the soil awaits you
ready to embrace
to crumble and consume
all you ever were

coffin dust

which I shall gather
with trembling hands
come Midnight
