An 18th century pirate's favorite weapon! The short length was ideal for battles
in confined spaces and the extra width provided weight for striking like a hatchet.
Straight handguards could get caught in a ship's rigging, so this sword had a small
upper prong and a curved lower handguard instead. The guard was even useful for
punching. All in all, a splendid weapon. Build one for yourself and see if you
don't agree! (Measures an authentic 22 inches with a 17.5 inch blade)
