JUST NEED A ROCK SONG - by Ray O'Bannon

Seems like just yesterday, my old man's Chevrolet
heard my first rock song on the radio
it really made me flip, just couldn't get a grip
that rockin' music was the only way to go
my Mom got kinda scared, Pop said it sounded weird
said 'dontcha buy you none, it's just a passing fad'
I smashed my piggy bank, snuck off with Uncle Hank
bought me a 45 of everything they had

now it's been a long time and the styles they keep on changin'
but one thing always stays the same...

CHORUS:
when ya can't seem to shake the blues, got nothing left to lose
wish you could be excused, just need a rock song
can't seem to find your way, gets harder every day
it's gonna be OK, just need a rock song

when I get looking back, what kept me right on track
was all those rockin' songs I heard along the way
that's what it's all about, just keep a-rockin' out
don't gotta worry cuz I think it's here to stay

now it's been a long time and the styles they keep on changin'
but one thing always stays the same...

(CHORUS)
it's crazy and it's pointless, wouldn't have it any other way
just let those guitars play

(CHORUS)
(CHORUS)
just need a rock song
just need a rock song
